Carlow County Council advises that a new default speed limit of 60km per hour for all rural local roads in the Republic of Ireland will come into effect on Friday 7th February 2025.

Carlow County Council is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the 2025 Festival and Events Grant Scheme. Designed to support the creation, development, and promotion of festivals and events across County Carlow, this scheme aims to enhance the local tourism industry and provide engaging experiences for residents and visitors alike.

Carlow County Council has prepared a Final Map for 2025 identifying land that may be in liable for the tax in 2025 and an Annual Draft Map for 2026 of the land considered to be in scope for the RZLT as of January 1st 2025.

Applications are invited from County Carlow Tidy Towns / Development Associations and Residents Associations who are engaged in or intending to engage in community environmental works or anti-litter initiatives in their localities.
