Carlow County Council, in partnership with Carlow Tourism, is delighted to announce the commencement of the Clonegal Heritage Audio Trail Project, a new initiative aimed at enriching the visitor experience and celebrating the rich history and stories of Clonegal village. This exciting project is being funded under the Town & Village Renewal Scheme.
The project will see the development of an immersive audio trail that guides visitors through Clonegal's significant heritage sites, bringing its past to life through engaging narratives and local voices. Carlow County Council has engaged a reputable Irish company, known for its expertise in developing visitor trails with strong local community input, to undertake this work. The project is anticipated to be completed within the next three months.
Trevor Winckworth from In Hand Guides Ltd, will be visiting Clonegal on August 12th to kick-start the project. Supported by Carlow County Council & Carlow Tourism this visit will serve as a crucial opportunity for local residents and interested parties to learn more about the project, ask questions, and contribute their insights.
A key element of the audio trail will be the inclusion of local stories and perspectives. During his visit, Mr. Winckworth will be recording interviews with interested community members, with the aim of weaving their unique narratives and historical accounts into the final audio experience. The project team encourages anyone with stories, memories, or knowledge of Clonegal's heritage to participate.
