Fee Fi Fo Fum, we smell a panto that’s packed with fun! The team at Striking Productions returns this year to the Kingdom of Barrowvale to meet young Jack, a hapless, harmless, hopeless hero. Jack lives with his mother, Mudder Udder, his nine siblings, and their menagerie of pets. The town is also living in fear of a GIANT, and rumour has it that he eats children!

Follow the winding paths to find the way to the real reindeer all the way from Lapland! Then it’s time for the big moment when each child receives a special present from Santa himself.

Carlow Crafters Selected for Prestigious European Craft Workshop in Sweden

5th September 2025, Carlow will be represented on the European stage through the participation of two local crafters, Isabel Lucas and Clare Jordan, in Stone & Soul: Sustainable Lithography, Linoleum and Paper for Contemporary Artists. This three-day hybrid workshop, hosted by the Craft Academy Sweden at the Helliden Folk High School in Skövde, is widely recognised as a significant forum for the advancement of sustainable craft practices in Europe.

Big Beach Clean Comes to County Carlow – Join the Riverbank Cleanup!

Carlow may be inland, but that doesn’t mean we can’t make waves in protecting our oceans!

Once again, this September, Carlow County Council is proud to support the Big Beach Clean, a nationwide initiative led by Clean Coasts and part of the International Coastal Cleanup (ICC). While coastal communities will be tackling litter on beaches, here in County Carlow we’re taking action along our riverbanks, because litter dropped in towns and cities is one of the leading causes of marine pollution.

Loc8code: Public Safety Initiative

Carlow County Council has launched Loc8code – an Emergency Access Points initiative designed to improve public safety and strengthen emergency response across the county.

Emergency Access Points are clearly identified locations that allow first responders to reach people quickly in areas where traditional addresses or navigation can be difficult. From rural landscapes and riverways to recreational spaces, these markers provide a simple, reliable reference that can be shared with ambulance, fire, or rescue services in the event of an emergency.
