Guided Tours of the Snowdrop Collection at Altamont Gardens

The very popular Snowdrop Month at Altamont Gardens runs from February 1st to 29th and is a great opportunity to view this unique collection, now amongst the largest in Ireland, with over 150 named varieties. This 40-acre estate, on the banks of the River Slaney near Tullow features an enchanting blend of formal, informal and wild gardens.

Guided Tours: take place each Monday – Friday throughout February at 2pm. and group tours by appointment.

The gardens are open daily for general viewing from 9am – 4.30pm.

Jack lives with his mother, Mudder Udder, his nine siblings, and their menagerie of pets. The town is also living in fear of a GIANT, and rumour has it that he eats children!

This pioneering initiative developed by Southern Region Waste Planning Office in partnership with local authorities in the Southern Waste Region, marks a new era for local sustainability

Minister of State at the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications with responsibility for Circular Economy, Alan Dillon TD, joined the Southern Region Waste Planning Office in partnership with local authorities across the Southern Waste Region and IRD Duhallow to launch ‘Circular Cups for Community Events’ – a first-of-its-kind initiative in Ireland. This pioneering programme provides local not -for- profit community events, throughout the Southern Waste Region, with access to high quality reusable cups, designed to eliminate single-use waste at their events. The Southern Waste Region includes local authorities in counties Tipperary, Limerick, Clare, Cork, Waterford, Kerry, Wexford, Kilkenny and Carlow.

Carlow County Fire & Rescue Service Procured 2 New Vehicles to Add to Their Fleet

A Renault HGV combined Hi-AB & Prime Mover, fuelled by HVO which is replacing two ageing vehicles, a 1993 Heavy Diesel Prime Mover HGV and a 1997 Heavy Diesel Hi-Ab Flatbed HGV. This new combined vehicle will be used to carry and transport the south-eastern regional Major Emergency Management Pod serving Counties Carlow, Kilkenny, Waterford and Wexford.
