Pan Celtic International Festival 2024

The International Pan Celtic Festival is a celebration of the Celtic cultures of Ireland, Wales, Scotland, Brittany, Isle of Man and Cornwall in music, song, dance, languages, costumes, sport and story. This year's festival has an exciting programme of events to keep everyone entertained, including street performances, a parade, live music and competitions.

Musicians and choirs, singers and dancers, bands and storytellers from the participating Celtic nations will come together to share their language and culture at this great family-friendly Easter event.

This event is one of five events taking place between 19th January and 2nd February, 2024. Four events will take place in-person and one will be online. At these sessions, you can talk to Arts Council staff about funding opportunities and hear more about what the Arts Council does.

Meet the Arts Council is an invaluable opportunity to meet with Arts Council teams to ask questions in an informal environment, to find out what funding or programme is suitable for you, to develop partnerships and meet with peers.

Pan Celtic National Song Contest

Pan Cheilteach, National Song Contest

Newly composed songs 'as Gaeilge' from across the country will go head-to-head in this prestigious national song contest, to find Ireland's entry for the Pan Celtic International Song Contest 2024. The composer of the winning song will receive a cash prize of €1,000 and go forward to represent Ireland at the Pan Celtic International Song Contest.

Snow drops in Altamont Gardens

Guided Tours of the Snowdrop Collection at Altamont Gardens

The very popular Snowdrop Month at Altamont Gardens runs from February 1st to 29th and is a great opportunity to view this unique collection, now amongst the largest in Ireland, with over 150 named varieties. This 40-acre estate, on the banks of the River Slaney near Tullow features an enchanting blend of formal, informal and wild gardens.

Guided Tours: take place each Monday – Friday throughout February at 2pm. and group tours by appointment.

The gardens are open daily for general viewing from 9am – 4.30pm.

Jack lives with his mother, Mudder Udder, his nine siblings, and their menagerie of pets. The town is also living in fear of a GIANT, and rumour has it that he eats children!
