Public Participation in the Identification of 'Bathing Waters'

Public participation in the identification of 'Bathing Waters' under the bathing waters Directive 2006/7 EC of 15th February 2006 and the Bathing Water Quality Regulations SI 79 of 2008.

All 31 city and county councils are inviting public participation in the identification of Bathing Waters under the Bathing Waters Directive and the Bathing Water Quality Regulations 2008 (SI No 79 of 2008).

The Directive requires that water quality at all identified bathing waters meets stringent microbiological standards in order to protect the health of people who choose to bathe there. City and county councils are required under the 2008 Regulations to identify bathing waters on an annual basis.

Voter Registration Event

Carlow County Council were delighted to host a Voter Registration event to coincide with the National Voter Registration Day on Wednesday 30th April 2025.   The event took place in the Fairgreen Shopping Centre.  At the event Carlow County Council members of staff were available to assist people to update details on checktheregister or register for the first time.

Carlow County Fire Service Launch 3 new HVO 4x4 Jeeps

Carlow County Fire & Rescue Service took delivery of three new 4x4 jeeps today, April 30th 2025.  Representatives from Skoda Mr. Jack Slattery & Mr. Ollie Brannock who supplied the 2 x Skoda Kodiaks and from Ford Mr. John O’Mahony who supplied the Ford Ranger were accompanied by Mr. Noel Howard from HPMP Tullow who fitted out the jeeps for fire service use.  The keys were handed over to Carlow County Council Cathaoirleach Cllr. Fergal Brown and Carlow County Fire & Rescue Service’s A/Chief Fire Officer Ben Woodhouse.
