Creative Ireland Carlow and Carlow County Council Arts Service are delighted to annouce a new bursary opportunity in collaboration with Belfast TradFest.

Young musicians aged 18–23 residing in/originally from Co. Carlow are invited to apply for a fully funded residential bursary, offering an unforgettable week of music, learning, and cultural exchange at Belfast TradFest Summer School taking place 28 July - 1 August 2025.

Carlow County Council is delighted to announce the signing of contracts with Duggan Lynch Ltd Building Contractors for the delivery of the Tullow Road Multi-functional Community Hub. This significant partnership marks an important milestone in delivering this project for the community of Tullow Road.

Public participation in the identification of 'Bathing Waters' under the bathing waters Directive 2006/7 EC of 15th February 2006 and the Bathing Water Quality Regulations SI 79 of 2008.

All 31 city and county councils are inviting public participation in the identification of Bathing Waters under the Bathing Waters Directive and the Bathing Water Quality Regulations 2008 (SI No 79 of 2008).

The Directive requires that water quality at all identified bathing waters meets stringent microbiological standards in order to protect the health of people who choose to bathe there. City and county councils are required under the 2008 Regulations to identify bathing waters on an annual basis.

Carlow County Council were delighted to host a Voter Registration event to coincide with the National Voter Registration Day on Wednesday 30th April 2025.   The event took place in the Fairgreen Shopping Centre.  At the event Carlow County Council members of staff were available to assist people to update details on checktheregister or register for the first time. 

Carlow town has officially been announced as the host of the annual Pan Celtic International Festival for 2026 and 2027. The decision was shared on Thursday (April 24) following a meeting of the festival council, with representatives from the six Celtic nations present.

A small business from County Carlow could be among the 31 selected to showcase their enterprise at this year’s Local Enterprise Village during the National Ploughing Championships, taking place from 16th - 18th September 2025. This prestigious event, the largest outdoor gathering in Europe, is expected to attract over 250,000 visitors across three days, providing an unparalleled platform for small businesses to gain exposure.

A focused group of 18 local businesswomen came together this week for the first Powerhouse Business Break event, held on April 29th at Enterprise House, Carlow. Titled Wealth Creation & Financial Metrics, the session provided attendees with practical financial knowledge to drive growth, improve sustainability, and boost confidence in business decision-making.
