Showcase Ireland’s Creative Expo® returns to the RDS, Dublin from 18th to 20th January 2026, bringing together Ireland’s most innovative and creative brands for one of the country’s largest international trade shows. The event attracts buyers from over 20 countries and more than 2,760 retailers, including buyers from Ireland, the UK, USA, Mainland Europe and the Far East.

As National Food Waste Recycling Week closes, Carlow County Council is proud to announce an exciting new initiative aimed at empowering local communities to take action against food waste. Thanks to funding from the Waste Enforcement Lead Authorities under the Anti-Dumping Initiative, we are delighted to bring a two-part Master Composting Programme to Tidy Towns groups, Allotments, Residents Associations, and Community Gardens across County Carlow.

Carlow’s creative community is being invited to take part in a unique opportunity that blends heritage crafts with sustainability and innovation on a European stage. Stone & Soul: Sustainable Lithography, Linoleum and Paper for Contemporary Artists is a three-day hybrid workshop and hackathon taking place from September 5–7, 2025, at the Craft Academy Sweden, hosted by the renowned Helliden Folk High School in Skövde, Sweden.

Carlow County Council hosted a night of celebration, last night, the 29th May 2025, in the magnificent Town Hall to a large audience where 9 Award Recipients were lauded and thanked for their efforts.

Councillor Fergal Browne, Cathaoirleach of Carlow County Council, officially opened the exhibition and stated, “Carlow County Council is very proud of its strong link with the University, the great benefits from this link and the growth of Carlow and SETU and in particular the link with the Architectural Technology Degree Programmes. 

Carlow Climate Action Team invites community groups to run an event with a climate focus during Carlow Climate Action Week.

Funding of up to €500 is available for groups interested in running a workshop, demonstrator event, information talk or other type of event to coincide with Carlow Climate Action Week.

On Saturday 24th May 2025 Carlow County Fire & Rescue Service had a team compete in the National Rescue Organisation Ireland (ROI) Competition at Dublin Fire Brigades OBI Training Centre.
