Excitement permeates the atmosphere in Carlow as Carlow County Council announces the highly anticipated revival of Streetfest, a dynamic celebration of culture, creativity, and community unity scheduled for Friday 10th May and Saturday 11th May 2024. Lower Tullow Street in Carlow is poised to undergo a magnificent transformation into a vibrant hub of entertainment and festivity.

Carlow County Council welcomes the announcement of funding by the Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys in the sum of €832,155 to complete four Town & Village Renewal Projects in County Carlow. The towns and villages of Tullow, St. Mullins, Clonegal and Carrigduff will benefit from this funding.

Carlow has recently celebrated the successful conclusion of the Fáilte Ireland Destination Towns initiative, a ground-breaking project that will significantly enrich the visitor experience within the County Town. The project was generously supported by a €500,000 investment from Fáilte Ireland and aims to breathe new life into Carlow's Cultural Quarter and the wider town.

Carlow County Council welcomes and are delighted to receive approval from the Department of Rural and Community Development of grant funding of € 4,135,178 in respect of its application submitted under the Community Centres Investment Fund 2023 for the construction of a multi-functional community hub at Tullow Road Carlow. The overall cost of the project is €4,594,643 which Carlow County Carlow will match fund. It is anticipated that the construction of this project will commence in the 4th quarter of 2024.

Craft enthusiasts and cultural heritage advocates can now delve into the journey of the Creative Europe - Craft Hub project through its comprehensive catalogue showcasing the project's exploration of craft's enduring relevance in contemporary practice. Supported by co-funding from the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union, Craft Hub has embarked on a transformative endeavour to delve into the depths of craft skills, processes, and their cultural significance across Europe.

Carlow County Council – Public Art Working Group are pleased to invite proposals from talented artists and arts groups specializing in visual art, mural art, exterior wall painting, design, collaborative, or community engaged practice. The opportunity at hand entails the development of an outdoor artistic intervention—a mural painting on the Former Crotty’s Premises in Carlow Town.

Today (15th April 2024) marks 10 years since the establishment of the Local Enterprise Offices on 15th April 2014. To mark the occasion, Carlow County Council and its Local Enterprise Office, a partnership with Enterprise Ireland, published an Impact Report to highlight the support it provided to the business community and wider enterprise eco-system in County Carlow in the 10 years since 2014.

A Drop-in Drop-out information session will be held in McGrath Hall on Tuesday 23rd April 2024 between 4.30 p.m. and 7.30 p.m.

A small business from County Carlow could be one of 31 who get a chance to exhibit as part of this year’s Local Enterprise Village at the Ploughing Championships in September.

Lower Tullow Street will come alive with music, magic, and mesmerising performances as Carlow County Council proudly presents Streetfest Busking Competition taking place on select dates throughout April, May and June 2024. This thrilling competition invites local talent to showcase their skills and entertain audiences from 11:30 AM to 4:30 PM each day.
