Creative Ireland Carlow are delighted to open applications for a new round of Short‑Term Community Creative Initiatives.
This programme welcomes projects that engage or enhance your community through creativity. Whether it’s a small‑scale event, a collaborative artwork, a creative workshop, or an innovative way to bring people together, we want to hear from you.
A key aim of this open call is to encourage communities who have never applied before. If your group is new to grant applications, this is an ideal opportunity to explore what’s possible. These short‑term initiatives offer a low‑pressure way to experience how the grant process works, build confidence, and hopefully inspire you to apply again in the future.
Projects that involve or collaborate with a creative practitioner—such as an artist, performer, designer, or storyteller—will be viewed favourably, as these partnerships often bring fresh perspectives and lasting impact.
We are looking for initiatives that:
- Bring people together in meaningful way
- Enhance or celebrate your local area
- Encourage participation, creativity, and community pride
- Are achievable within a short timeframe, must be completed and paperwork submitted by October 22nd 2026
We look forward to seeing the ideas your community wants to explore and the creative energy you hope to share.
The Project/Initiative must directly link to one or more of the four identified key strategic priorities in the Carlow Culture & Creativity Strategy 2023-2027. It is recommended that you familiarise yourself with the Culture & Creativity Strategy 2023-2027 .
