Heritage Education and Training

Local authorities may provide heritage education to school children and community, voluntary and heritage groups to increase their knowledge and appreciation of local heritage.

The Heritage Office raises awareness of the heritage of County Carlow through education and training initiatives. The Carlow Heritage Office often avails of such expertise as the Heritage in Schools to enable communities learn from experts about heritage and biodiversity.

The Heritage Office organises internal training as requested.

Currently the Heritage Office is working with Carlow County Museum to develop a field walking training events in September 2023 to enable people engage in a field walking project while also learning how to collect, process and catalogue artefacts that come from the ploughzone in fields in County Carlow.
