Funding Streams

The TCF Policy will assist in the co-ordinated alignment of various new and existing funding streams to support the implementation of the TCF Plans on the ground.

Ready to Build Scheme

Under the Ready to Build Scheme, local authorities will make serviced sites in towns and villages available to potential individual purchasers (self-builders).

THRIVE - Former Bank of Ireland Premises

Carlow County Council welcomed the announcement of €3.9 million in THRIVE funding to support the redevelopment of the Former Bank of Ireland Premises in Carlow Town. The funding is provided through the Government’s THRIVE scheme (Town Centre First Heritage Revival Scheme), co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund Southern, Eastern and Midland Regional Programme 2021–2027.

Town and Village Renewal Scheme 2025

The Minister for Rural and Community Development, Dara Calleary TD, has announced the Town and Village Renewal Scheme (TVRS) 2025 which is designed to support the revitalisation of rural Ireland and to build greater resilience into our town centres through regeneration projects.

Town Centre First

The Government’s Town Centre First Policy (February 2022) is a major new policy that aims to tackle vacancy, combat dereliction and breathe new life into town centres.

Urban Regeneration and Development Fund

Local authorities may work with local development companies, state agencies, community organisations and private investors to secure government funding to support new residential and commercial developments in designated cities and towns.
