Homeowners in Carlow and the wider region are being encouraged to drop into the Carlow Home Energy Expo on Tuesday, 25 March, from 10:30am to 5pm at the Seven Oaks Hotel.
This free event will bring together independent experts, retrofit professionals, financial advisors and contractors – all under one roof – to help householders learn how to make their homes warmer, more comfortable and more affordable to heat.
Organised by Carlow County Council, in partnership with the South East Energy Agency, Carlow Town Sustainable Energy Community (SEC) and Carlow Partnership, this once off expo will provide practical, reliable guidance for anyone interested in improving the energy efficiency of their home.
Throughout the day, visitors will be able to speak directly with a range of experts who can guide them through the different options available for improving the energy efficiency of their homes.
Throughout the day, visitors can meet directly with:
- Independent energy specialists who can explain the best upgrade options for different home types
- Grant advisors with information on supports such as SEAI Home Energy Grants, the Warmer Homes Scheme and the new Windows and Doors Grant
- BER assessors offering insights into home energy ratings and effective retrofit planning
- Banks and credit unions outlining green loan options
- Qualified contractors and installers covering insulation, renewable energy, heating systems and more
A particular focus of the event will be the SEAI Warmer Homes Scheme, which provides fully funded home energy upgrades for eligible households, particularly older homeowners and those receiving certain income support or disability payments.
For other homeowners considering improvements, the event will provide information on SEAI grants, financing options and practical steps to plan energy upgrades over time.
The expo will also provide information on the recently introduced SEAI Windows and Doors Grant, which supports improvements that reduce heat loss and improve home comfort.
Jannette O’Brien, Climate Action Coordinator with Carlow County Council, said:
“Many homeowners want to improve their homes but aren’t always sure where to begin. The Home Energy Expo will bring together experts, grant advisors and contractors in one place to help people understand the options available and the supports that can help them get started.”
Michael Kinchella, Climate Action Development Lead with the South East Energy Agency, added:
“Improving the energy efficiency of our homes can seem complicated, but there are now a wide range of grants, supports and financing options available to help homeowners. The Home Energy Expo is designed to give people clear, independent information so they can understand what upgrades might suit their home and how to take the next step.”
The event runs from 10:30am to 5pm, and members of the public are welcome to drop in at any time during the day.
