Tullow Street in Carlow Town is getting ready to pulse with music and celebration on 7th June in the next Streetfest event called Streetfest Sessions, in association with Scramble Session.
From late morning into the afternoon, the street will transform into a vibrant stage for local music talent, with live performances scheduled across four stage locations at—Tullys, Waterlilies, Scraggs, and Shaws. The event promises to be more than just a musical celebration; it’s a community gathering, a family day out, and a showcase of Carlow’s creative energy.
Streetfest Sessions is designed to appeal to all ages, with free family entertainment including face painting and roaming circus performers adding colour, excitement, and plenty of Instagram-worthy moments throughout the day.
The programme kicks off at 11:00am, with the first performance by Maryann at Tullys. Over the course of the day, audiences will be treated to an impressive line-up of local artists including Taylor Hayes, Asophonics, Duane Ayres & Gavin Glover, Dale Bolger, Dara Eaton & The Patsys, Eric de Buitléir, and Just Alice, with performances wrapping up by 4:30pm. Each artist will perform in a different venue, creating a festival atmosphere that encourages visitors to stroll the street and soak in the sounds.
Speaking about the event, Mayor of Carlow Municipal District , Cllr. Fintan Phelan, said:
“Streetfest Sessions is a fantastic opportunity to support our local musicians and businesses while giving families and visitors a memorable day out in the heart of Carlow. Events like this are what make our town vibrant and unique.”
With support from Scramble Sessions and the energy of local venues and performers, Streetfest Sessions is shaping up to be a standout event on Carlow’s summer calendar. It's a reminder of how powerful the arts can be in connecting communities and lifting spirits.
Coilín O’Reilly, Chief Executive of Carlow County Council, highlighted the broader impact of the event: “Bringing streets to life through music and creativity not only enhances the visitor experience, but also strengthens the local economy and community pride. Tullow Street has always been central to Carlow Town’s identity, and events like this help us reimagine it as a place of celebration, connection, and culture.”
