Carlow County Council hosted a night of celebration, last night, the 29th May 2025, in the magnificent Town Hall to a large audience where 9 Award Recipients were lauded and thanked for their efforts.
In his opening address Cllr Fintan Phelan, Mayor of Carlow praised all Award Recipients stating: “It is a great honour to be here this evening as your Mayor and it is a privilege to present these Awards. Carlow is a wonderful place to live, work and play. There is a great community spirit and that is thanks in no small way to the achievements and work of many individuals, communities and voluntary organisations. I feel it is important that, I, as the Mayor and the Council, as our lead civic authority, formally recognise those achievements. It was that guiding reason that I introduced these Awards in 2017 and I am delighted you could all join us this evening for the 2025 Awards. A huge congratulations and thank you to each of you. Carlow is a better place because of your efforts. Go raibh míle maith agaibh go léir, agus comhghairdeas.”
