Carlow County Council, in association with Scats Bouncing Castles, is delighted to announce the arrival of Bounceland, a free, indoor family entertainment event taking place at The Exchange, Potato Market, Carlow, on Sunday 21 December and Monday 22 December 2025. The event forms a key part of Féile Lonrach, Carlow’s festive programme of seasonal events and activities.
Bounceland is specifically designed for children aged 4 to 12 years and will transform The Exchange into a vibrant, energetic play space, featuring a wide range of bouncing castles, interactive family games, and face painting. The event aims to provide a safe, inclusive and enjoyable environment for families to come together during the busy Christmas period, while also enhancing the festive atmosphere within the town centre.
Running daily from 10.00am to 5.00pm, Bounceland will operate on a structured sessional basis to ensure a high-quality experience for all participants. Tickets are free of charge and are available via Eventbrite on a first-come, first-served basis. Each family booking will consist of a one-hour time slot, with 45 minutes of active playtime, followed by a 15-minute transition period to allow each group to exit safely and enable the next group to enter. Families are kindly asked to arrive at least 10 minutes before their allocated session to support the efficient running of the event.
The first session will commence at 10.00am, with the final session concluding at 5.00pm on both days. This structured approach ensures that all children can enjoy the facilities in a safe, well-managed and comfortable environment, while also allowing as many families as possible to participate over the two-day period.
Speaking ahead of the event, Cllr. Paul Doogue, Mayor of Carlow Municipal District, welcomed the announcement and highlighted the importance of accessible, family-focused programming during the festive season said “Féile Lonrach is about creating positive shared experiences for families and communities across Carlow, and Bounceland at The Exchange is a wonderful example of this. Providing a free, high-quality family event in the heart of the town centre ensures that everyone can take part in the Christmas celebrations, while also bringing colour, energy and excitement to the Potato Market area.”
The event also aligns with Carlow County Council’s wider objectives to animate town centre spaces and encourage increased footfall during the festive period. Kieran Comerford, Head of Economic Development & Enterprise with Carlow County Council, emphasised the broader economic and placemaking benefits of initiatives such as Bounceland: “Family-focused events like Bounceland play a vital role in strengthening the town centre experience, particularly during the Christmas season. By attracting families into Carlow town, we are supporting local retailers, cafés and hospitality businesses, while also showcasing The Exchange as a flexible, welcoming community space. Féile Lonrach continues to demonstrate how well-curated events can contribute to both economic activity and quality of life.”
Bounceland at The Exchange is one of a series of events taking place as part of Féile Lonrach, which celebrates the festive season through community-focused, inclusive and accessible programming.
Advance booking is essential, and families are encouraged to secure their preferred time slots early via Eventbrite due to expected high demand.
