Carlow County Council’s Local Enterprise Office, in partnership with County Carlow Chamber and Bank of Ireland, is set to host EmpowerHR 2025, a timely and dynamic conference aimed at addressing the future of work and the ever-evolving landscape of human resources. The conference will open with remarks by John Purcell of KCLR, setting the tone for a productive and engaging day. Among the key sessions, the Financial HR Knowledge Toolkit, led by Mark O’Connor and PJ Ralph, will provide practical guidance on entitlements, auto-enrolment, and regulatory changes that are shaping the HR function. A panel discussion featuring Rory Hennessey and Lisa Harney will delve into the financial dimensions of HR, exploring how strategic financial planning can enhance HR operations.
In a particularly timely session, Mary Flynn of the Workplace Relations Commission will present on navigating employers’ requirements in 2025 and beyond. This session will cover critical areas such as compliance, remote work, wellbeing, and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), offering attendees a comprehensive overview of evolving employer obligations.
The theme of digital transformation will be further explored in a keynote address by Stephanie Prenderville of SP Consulting. Her presentation on digital HR compliance tools will highlight how automation, data analytics, and emerging HR technologies can help organisations streamline processes and improve decision-making.
The conference will conclude with a panel discussion featuring Caitlin O’Connor, Denise Whelan, and Seamus Doran, who will explore performance acceleration and the role of HR in supporting local economic development. Their discussion will focus on the strategic contribution of HR to building resilient, innovative, and high-performing organisations, particularly in the context of regional growth and competitiveness.
