Met Eireann has issued a status Yellow Wind Warning for Co. Carlow from 14:00 on Tuesday January 23rd until 02:00 Wednesday January 24th
As a precautionary measure, Oak Park Forest Park, will be closed to members of the public from 1.30pm today and will reopen as normal on Wednesday 24th January.
Carlow County Council’s Severe Weather Assessment Team met this afternoon and wishes to advise members of the public of the following key safety messages:
- People should be mindful that Storm Jocelyn may exasperate damage to trees and structures that have already been damaged by Storm Isha.

Members of the public should not attempt to clear fallen trees or carry out storm damage repairs until such time as the storm has passed. Issues such as fallen trees, flooding and road damage should be reported to:
Carlow Council’s Emergency Out of Hours Number (059) 9170300 - All road users should be aware of the potential for hazardous travelling conditions. Motorists should slow down and be aware of the dangers of fallen trees and debris. High sided vehicles, cyclists and motorcyclists are particularly vulnerable during this time.

ESB Networks at 1800 372 999 - Fallen or grounded wires should be avoided, and the public are advised to call ESB in assisting with the identification of fallen wires.
