Biodiversity Action Plan Consultation

Local authorities prepare plans to protect, manage and promote local biodiversity. You can have an input into the plans through consultation.

Carlow County Council adopted its first Biodiversity Action Plan and first Green Infrastructure Strategy in 2023.

In March 2026, Carlow County Council initiated the process of preparing a new Biodiversity Action Plan for the period 2026-2031. A Pre-Draft Discussion Paper was prepared, and can be viewed below.
