Music in Healthcare Programme

Local authorities, together with other stakeholders, may provide music tuition to musicians working in healthcare settings.

Local authorities, together with the Health Service Executive, may run activities such as painting and drawing, sculpture, music and poetry to encourage people to engage with the arts and improve their health and wellbeing.
Carlow Arts Service works in partnership with a number of local community organisations and artists working in health settings and services to promote, support and celebrate arts and health in all its forms and to create access to the arts for all.
Over the last number of years Carlow Arts Service has worked with local musicians and performers to provide care concerts to our local nursing homes.
Carlow County Council Arts Office, Creative Ireland, Creativity in Older Age Scheme and Healthy Ireland, enable musicians to visit care settings to perform care concerts in and around County Carlow.
These events are organised by the Arts Office of Carlow County Council and made possible through the support of the Creative Ireland Creativity in Older Age Scheme.
