3 Men with Poster Point at Carnival

Carlow County Council, in association with Sonix Entertainment Ltd, is thrilled to announce the Carlow Carnival, set to take place from Monday 19th to Friday 23rd August 2024 at The Exchange in Potato Market, Carlow Town Centre. This family-friendly event promises to bring joy and excitement to children aged 3-10, offering a delightful array of games and rides including the Carousel, Chairoplane and Tea Cup Ride, various games such as smash a can fun fair stall and Jenga and face painting.

Blackstair Evening

Carlow’s majestic Blackstairs Mountains and River Barrow together with the charming villages of Carlow feature in this year’s Carlow Autumn Walking Festival. The festival caters to all levels of walkers, from very experienced hill walkers out to enjoy an invigorating mountain trek to novices seeking some peace and tranquility along more leisurely routes. There is a choice of over 15 different walks plus family activities and themed walks.

Books and Paintbrushes

National Public Libraries Open Day promotes the role of public libraries in Irish society and raises awareness of the broad range of services they provide. The Day is taking place Saturday, 28th September, with 300+ libraries across Ireland marking it through activities, events and celebrations. 

To coincide with the Day, the Take a Closer Look campaign is encouraging people to take a closer look at the wide-ranging services open to them through their libraries, with the vast majority freely available.
