Carlow’s spectacular new Samhain experience promises a night of fire, wonder and family entertainment
The next round of tickets for FIRE NIGHT which will be held on Friday 23rd October 2026 will be released on Thursday, 1st October, following an exceptional response which has already seen more than 1,500 people book to attend.
Carlow County Council is encouraging families to book quickly when the next allocation becomes available, with tickets being offered on a first come, first served basis.
FIRE NIGHT promises to bring something completely new to Carlow, creating a memorable night-time experience for families and visitors while bringing additional energy and activity into the town.
At the heart of FIRE NIGHT will be Ephemera, a spectacular outdoor performance from acclaimed Irish spectacle company VolkiDána.
Fusing giant puppetry, aerial acrobatics, dance, fire and immersive procession, Ephemera invites audiences into a world of mystique and magic in a breathtaking night-time spectacle for all ages.
Audiences will follow the story of an ancient deity awakening for one final journey across the earth, surrounded by fire, movement, music and larger-than-life characters. As the boundaries between the everyday and the otherworldly begin to blur, families will be transported into a striking and immersive mythological world.
Speaking ahead of the next ticket release, Mayor of Carlow, Cllr Ken Murnane, said:
“FIRE NIGHT is about creating something special for families. It is an opportunity to come together, enjoy something different and experience Carlow in a new way. With over 1,500 people already booked, the response has been fantastic. We want people of all ages to come along, wrap up warm and enjoy what promises to be a really memorable night for Carlow.”
FIRE NIGHT is also designed to encourage people to spend time in Carlow town centre and to connect cultural and family experiences with the local economy.

“Getting families out together and enjoying quality experiences is good for our community, but it is also important for our town centre economy. Events like FIRE NIGHT bring people into Carlow, create additional footfall and support our cafés, restaurants, shops and other local businesses. That activity feeds directly into the town centre economy and helps support local jobs. We want people to enjoy a fantastic experience and, while they are here, to make an evening of it in Carlow.”
A magical and fiery night of spectacle, storytelling and imagination, Ephemera will offer families a different way to mark Samhain together and is expected to be one of the highlights of Carlow’s autumn calendar.
With more than 1,500 places already booked, demand for the next allocation is expected to be strong.
Anyone hoping to attend FIRE NIGHT is advised to book quickly once the next round becomes available. Tickets will be allocated on a first come, first served basis and availability is limited.
