Seed Golf, the Carlow‑based innovator behind PGA‑tour‑grade golf balls, has been selected to represent the county at the 2026 National Enterprise Awards. The announcement was made on Wednesday at a ceremony hosted by the Local Enterprise Office (LEO) Carlow, where winners across four additional award categories were also revealed.

The event, part of a highly successful Local Enterprise Week taking place nationwide from March 2nd to 7th, celebrated outstanding businesses supported by the 31 Local Enterprise Offices across Ireland.

Presenting the awards, Cllr. Ken Murnane, Cathaoirleach of Carlow County Council, said: “The National Enterprise Awards are a tribute to the dedication, creativity, and resilience shown by local entrepreneurs. The businesses recognised today are not only strengthening Carlow’s economy but contributing to economic growth across the country.”

Seed Golf will go forward to represent Carlow at the National Enterprise Awards Final in Dublin’s Mansion House this May. Founded by Dean Klatt, the company has rapidly scaled both at home and abroad, offering award‑winning tour‑grade golf balls at highly competitive prices. Almost half of Seed Golf’s sales now come from international markets, reflecting its fast‑growing global reach.

The ceremony also honoured winners across four additional categories, recognising enterprises that have thrived with the support of LEO Carlow. The 2026 category winners are:

Sun Arc Solar Systems – Digital Business Award

Conway’s Bar & Restaurant – Green Business Award

HPMP Fire – Lean Business Award

Flying Tumbler Irish Whiskey – Exporting Business Award

Speaking about the awards programme, Coilín O’Reilly, Chief Executive of Carlow County Council, remarked: “SMEs are the backbone of our local economy—driving employment, innovation, and sustained growth. The National Enterprise Awards shine a light on exceptional businesses that continue to push boundaries. This year’s overall winner reflects the ambition and entrepreneurial spirit that define our county. We are proud to celebrate the talent and determination of all the enterprises recognised today.”

Séamus Doran, organiser of the County Final and Assistant Head of Economic Development & Enterprise at the Local Enterprise Office, added: “The National Enterprise Awards offer an invaluable opportunity for businesses to gain national recognition. We are delighted to have Seed Golf represent Carlow this year. The standard of entries was exceptional, showcasing the energy and strength of our local small business community. While not every finalist could win today, many are on a trajectory that will see them become strong contenders in future years.”
