Carlow County Council’s Local Enterprise Office is now accepting applications for the County Final of the ‘National Enterprise Awards 2026’ which take place on Wednesday 4th March 2026. These awards celebrate and recognise the outstanding achievements of micro and small businesses across County Carlow. Eligible businesses are encouraged to submit their applications by the closing date of 11 February 2026.
Eligibility for participation in the awards requires that businesses have fewer than 50 employees and have received direct support from Local Enterprise Office Carlow. The 2026 categories are County Carlow - Green Business Award, County Carlow - Lean Business Award, County Carlow – Digital Business Award, County Carlow – Export Business Award and finally the National Enterprise Awards – Carlow Enterprise of the Year. The awards will be presented on 4th March 2026 at a function organised by the Local Enterprise Office.
The overall winner of Carlow Enterprise of the Year will go on to represent the county at the National Enterprise Awards, taking place in Dublin’s Mansion House in June. These national awards are Ireland’s premier showcase for micro-enterprise excellence, recognising achievements in innovation, export growth, job creation and sustainability. The ceremony attracts senior business leaders, government representatives and national media, providing an invaluable platform for winners to gain national exposure.
The Cathaoirleach of Carlow County Council, Cllr. Ken Murnane said: “Local businesses continue to make Carlow proud at the National Enterprise Awards. I strongly encourage all eligible enterprises to enter and take the opportunity to represent themselves and their county at this prestigious national event.”
