GoCar, Ireland’s leading car-sharing service, has announced a new partnership with Enterprise House operated by Carlow Community Enterprise Centres CLG in association with the Connected Hubs initiative in Carlow, providing two shared vehicles to support local communities, enterprises, entrepreneurs, and small business alongside e-bike providers, Bolt.
The partnership will make sustainable, flexible transport more accessible to businesses using Connected Hubs facilities, helping them to connect with clients, customers and opportunities across the Carlow region.
By adding GoCar vehicles to Connected Hubs in Carlow, the initiative aims to reduce the barriers of car ownership while giving local enterprises the freedom to thrive. Businesses can now access vehicles when they need them, without the cost and hassle of maintaining a fleet.
Speaking about the launch, Joe Quirke, Head of GoCar said: ‘At GoCar, we’re committed to making transport smarter and more affordable. This partnership with connected hubs in Carlow gives enterprises and entrepreneurs the flexibility they need to grow their businesses, while also supporting more sustainable travel options’
Connected hubs is Ireland’s national network of over 300 remote working facilities, designed to give communities the space and infrastructure they need to succeed. With the addition of GoCar vehicles, the Carlow hubs will offer even greater flexibility for business and professionals working locally
Kieran Comerford, Director of Carlow Community Enterprise Centres CLG and Head of Economic Development at Carlow County Council, commented:
“Enterprise House is home to over 28 companies employing 150 staff. Our tenants are passionate about sustainability, and having car sharing available on-site is just one step we can take to support greener transport solutions — not just for our tenants, but for the wider community. Our partnership with GoCar makes that possible.”
Speaking about the partnership, Mayor of Carlow Municipal District , Cllr. Paul Doogue said ““As a council, we are delighted to work with the Board of Directors of Carlow Community Enterprise Centres on the development of enterprise spaces and a variety of other projects. This partnership with GoCar is another example of how community-led endeavours can feed into our wider sustainability agenda. We would encourage businesses, remote workers, and individuals across Carlow to make use of this service. It’s a practical and affordable option that supports our goal of reducing emissions and congestion in the town. This initiative also complements the growing number of sustainable transport projects in Carlow — both public and private — helping us build a cleaner, greener future for our community.”
The two GoCar vehicles that are now available include a VW Taigo and Nissan Qashqai at Carlow Enterprise House.
