There will be a continuing of temporary traffic restrictions on the L2012 roadway between its junction with the R727 (Downings) and Brother Leo Park (GAA), Ballymurphy Road, Tullow.
These restrictions shall be in place to enhance safety for road users and operatives alike, while localised drainage improvement works are carried out at specific sites along the route (which are in advance of road resurfacing works scheduled for later this year).
Weather dependent and subject to progress, these works are scheduled to continue from Tuesday 27th February 2024 until Friday 15th March 2024 (inclusive) between the hours of 8:00am and 5:00pm each day.
Residential and land owner access shall be maintained at all times. School buses and local milk collection lorries shall also be facilitated. Delays shall be inevitable and road users are advised to avoid this roadway if possible for the duration of these works and are encouraged to use the following alternative routes:
R727/R726 to Killerrig Cross and left onto the R418 and straight onto R725 to Tullow and vice versa
N81 from Tullow to Kill(magarvoge) Cross and left onto the R726 to Downings and vice versa
Tullow Municipal District apologises for the disruptions and inconvenience that shall be caused and will endeavour to remove the traffic restrictions as soon as it is safe for all to do so.
