Carlow Companies Invited to Seminar on How to Navigate the Cost of Doing Business

In today’s challenging economic climate, businesses across all sectors are grappling with rising costs, tightening margins, and financial uncertainty. From inflationary pressures and supply chain issues to the cost of energy and financing, these challenges are impacting profitability and long-term sustainability for companies of all sizes. To help local enterprises respond effectively to these conditions, Carlow Kilkenny Skillnet and Carlow County Council – Local Enterprise Office are hosting a targeted Management Development Seminar on Tuesday, 24th June 2025, from 10:00am to 12:00noon at the Seven Oaks Hotel, Carlow.

Titled “How to Navigate the Cost of Doing Business?”, this seminar is designed specifically for business owners, managers, and financial decision-makers who are seeking practical strategies to address and manage current cost challenges. The event will offer a deep dive into tools and frameworks for enhancing cost efficiency, improving financial planning, and building long-term business resilience.

Speaking ahead of the event, Cllr. Ken Murnane, Cathaoirleach of Carlow County Council, said: “Supporting our business community is a top priority for Carlow County Council. We understand the pressure that rising costs are placing on local enterprises, and this seminar is an important step in helping business leaders take control, adapt, and grow. It reflects our ongoing commitment to ensuring Carlow remains a strong and supportive environment for enterprise.”

Attendees will then benefit from two expert-led sessions. The first, delivered by Billy Sweetman, Partner at PwC South East Practice, is titled Financial Frameworks for Business Success. With over 30 years of experience advising businesses on financial planning, succession, and value realisation, Billy will share insights on how organisations can strengthen their financial control and develop robust strategies to weather economic uncertainty.

Following this, renowned author, mentor and business strategist Blaise Brosnan will lead a session on Controlling the Limiting Factors in Your Business. Drawing on decades of real-world business experience, Blaise will help attendees identify and address the internal and external factors that constrain performance. His approach blends practical advice with strategic thinking, empowering business leaders to regain control and drive results.
