Carlow Live and Local is an initiative of Carlow County Council Arts Service and grew from the national Live and Local Performance Scheme that local authorities managed during the pandemic. 2024 sees the return of Carlow Live and Local, managed by Carlow County Council Arts Service.
Carlow Live and Local since its inception has showcased Carlow Musicians and provided access to performance opportunities. It also has seen wonderful local raw talent flourish and nurtured, with the voice of the local musician community at its core. Carlow Live and Local is led by a panel of local expert musicians, Fiach Moriarty and Walter Hennessey along with Arts Officer, Sinead Dowling and Benjamin Perchet, Artistic Director Carlow Arts Festival.
Carlow Live & Local is a platform for the most exciting music from across Co. Carlow. Talented musicians can now apply to perform via this Open Call online application. Carlow Live and Local 2024 will be staged at Carlow Arts Festival over 7th, 8th and 9th June 2024.
From steel bands and classical contemporary collectives to community choirs, cover bands, folk musicians, hip hop collectives and everything in between; there’s no limit to the type of live act we are open to presenting. Your work should however be of a good performance standard.
Representation and inclusion are important to us and we actively encourage applications from people who reflect the diversity of our county.

Applications close on Tuesday 27th February 2024 12noon.
Applications will be assessed on a competitive basis and within the resources available to us and therefore it is not a guarantee that you will be successful.
Selected acts will be informed by mid-March 2024.
