A special event hosted by Local Enterprise Offices Carlow and Kilkenny to celebrate women in business on National Women’s Enterprise Day 2024 was a huge success by attendees, connecting over 130 female entrepreneurs at the Woodford Dolmen Hotel, Carlow. The event featured inspiring discussions, networking opportunities, and insights from successful female leaders, highlighting the power of women supporting women in business.

During the "run-up" to Halloween, Carlow Gardaí, Carlow Fire Service and Carlow County Council areagain warning about the serious dangers associated with fireworks and Bonfires. Each year, Accident andEmergency departments are filled with children who receive horrific and painful injuries as a result of themisuse of fireworks and bonfires.

Small and Medium Enterprises from across the South East region gathered in Google headquarters last week for ‘Digital 25’ a major business event hosted by Google and the Local Enterprise Offices of the South East region. Held at Google’s Foundry in Dublin, the event focused on empowering local businesses with cutting-edge digital and AI strategies to thrive in 2025 and beyond.

The second annual ‘Carlow Business Day’ was held on Wednesday October 9th 2024 and has been hailed by its many attendees as a resounding success. 

Six local businesses from Carlow County have recently returned from a productive export development programme in Belgium, organised by Carlow County Council’s Local Enterprise Office. The programme aimed to equip the small Carlow-based companies with the essential tools and knowledge to expand their operations into international markets.

Carlow County Council has announced that 1,103 businesses in County Carlow have received just under €3.5 million in grant funding under the Government’s Increased Cost of Business scheme. 

27 delegates from Italy, Latvia, France, Slovenia, Romania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ukraine visited Carlow recently as part of Interreg EU funded project InnoCom. The InnoCom project aims to make funding easier to access, foster innovation, and improve communication.

Carlow County Council will host its first ever Climate Action Week from the 14th to 20th October. This week is an opportunity to highlight the many positive climate actions already underway in Co. Carlow, while drawing attention to the topic of climate change and offering positive climate action solutions to everybody in the community of Carlow.

We are about to launch our survey, to get your input on the challenges facing Carlow town centre and what you'd like to see happen to improve it. This survey is part of a non-statutory public consultation before proposals are finalised and planning permission is applied for. It is a follow on from the extensive consultation that was carried out as part of Project Carlow 2040.
